Hello
Branson Families!
This
has been a strange time for everyone, with social distancing, stores closed,
and the fear of running out of toilet paper being a real thing. With all of
that uncertainty, I am very happy that Branson School Online can operate
as usual. I hope that in this one area our students can find a source of familiarity and comfort when many other things are not.
One thing that is changing for
us, is that we will not be holding CMAS testing sites this year. We are still
waiting on confirmation for PSAT tests, but I am sure those will be following
suit as well.
I am hopeful that we will be able to have our
graduation and the end of the year trip to the zoo in May, but the coming weeks
will likely dictate that as well. I know that canceling or postponing
graduation is sad for any graduate and families of those graduating. We will do
our very best to make sure that this monumental occasion is still recognized,
in some way. We will of course keep you updated on any changes.
One
exciting change for us during the pandemic is that our teachers have decided to
increase the number of InterestEd sessions for the remainder of the school
year, and open those opportunities up to families outside of BSO. If you
have friends or family members that are struggling to find activities for their
students, please encourage them to join us. We are excited to offer this
outreach to our families and community, so please do join us. Information
about these upcoming sessions will come from your homeroom teachers, as well as
being posted to our Branson School Online Facebook page. As always, if
you have ideas or suggestions for our InterestEd sessions, please share those
with us.
We
have nine weeks remaining this year. I encourage all of our students to stick
to their school schedule as much as possible and finish the year strong! Please
stay safe and healthy!
Happy
learning!
