The recent achievement that I am most satisfied with is being chosen as a student to enter a National Youth Leadership event because of my academic successes. I was going through a bit of a rough patch during the time I received it and it made me hopeful for the future. Being rewarded for hard work is very gratifying.

Congratulations Aliza!  We are so proud of you!

November InterestEd

Our November InterestEd sessions were a huge success!  Students had the opportunity to play games, make snowflake ornaments, go on virtual field trips, participate in book club, make hot chocolate and much more!

Arion is 8 years old and enjoys being in 3rd grade. Arion loves to cook, play sports, draw and exercise. When he grows up he wants to be pilot or a dentist. Arion is #6 of 7 kids and an uncle to his 2 nieces.

October InterestEd

Our October InterestEd sessions were a huge success!  Students had the opportunity to make apple nachos, make friendship bracelets, learn how to change their own oil and winter driving tips, learn to draw Pokeman characters and much more!

Student Spotlight: Atreyu D.

 

Branson School Online is home to amazing students who are involved in a variety of exciting activities. 

Student Spotlight for December: Atreyu D. 

Atreyu is almost 7 years old. He is the youngest of 7 kids and uncle to two nieces. He is enjoying being in 1st grade. When he grows up he wants to be a firefighter and an athlete. Atreyu is on his way by playing football, soccer and basketball. Atreyu is 1 of 3 that attend Branson.

Our Feature Teacher for the month of October is: Lynn Crippen-Menefee!

Ms. Crippen-Menefee is the 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher for Branson School Online. Read on to learn more about this talented BSO teacher!

Years Teaching: This is my 23rd year teaching.

Years with BSO: 1st year: I joined BSO in February 2021

Favorite food: Tied between Tom Kha Gai Thai soup, Pesto, Chile Rellenos, Sushi, Thanksgiving dinner, most Mediterranean food...I'd better stop listing food.  I'm getting hungry!

Favorite color: Green and Blue

Pets: 4 Dogs: Clara, Lotus, Saoirse, and Hope; 3 barn cats: Melinda, Baby, and Max, and 25 chickens (they all have names, but it's a long list)

Hobbies: writing, hiking, gardening, and identifying plants and birds in the woods

What do you love about teaching? I love learning what makes individual students tick and how they learn best.  I also love being a life-long learner and learning new things every day.

What do you love about teaching with Branson? I love the diversity of the students, the feeling of community, and my teaching team.

Favorite season? Why?  Spring is my favorite because it reminds me that anything is possible.

Favorite place you have traveled to? Ireland--especially the sites with ancient structures and history

# 1 item on your bucket list: More traveling--perhaps around the Mediterranean

Lacey loves barrel racing on her 7 year old off the track thoroughbred Summer.  They just started competing this summer and just keep getting better with every run.

Pets: 4 dogs! A beagle named Razor, two blue-heelers named Hallie and Trooper, and a dachshund named Rogue!

Hobbies: Writing poetry, working-out, playing sports (specifically basketball)

What do you love about teaching? The kids! Watching kids grow in my subject matter, as well as individuals gives me so much joy! 

What do you love about teaching with Branson? The sense of family and community BSO exhibits. 

Favorite season? Why? Fall! Colder weather, and football season! 

Favorite place you have traveled to? Haiti! 

# 1 item on your bucket list: Travel to each state in the U.S. with my family.

Our September InterestEd sessions were a huge success!  Students had the opportunity to make sherbet, create a fairy garden, go on a virtual college tour, participate in a talent show and much more!

Favorite season? Why? Fall  Crisp air and the changing colors of mother nature

Favorite place you have traveled to?  Hawaii--Yellowstone National Park

Favorite book/author:  Mary Higgins Clark

Favorite sport:  Baseball

Anything else you’d like to share:  I attended Texas Tech University and graduated with BA in Accounting.then received a MA in Educational Leadership from Adams State University.  I have three adult children and two grandsons and one granddaughter.  I enjoy fishing, hiking, camping and riding my Harley.
