NWSS Field Trip

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, BSO students and their families visited the National Western Stock Show.  For many, this trip was the first visit.  Here are what some of them had to say about the experience.

Jayla- It was fun!  The best part of the day for me was the guided tour. I thought that was fun learning about the NWSS from a knowledgeable person.

David- Our family had a great time. The tour was good. I enjoyed seeing all of the animals. The size of the Angus bulls was impressive. I wish they were not taking out the old stock pens.

Amiel- This was our first time and we had a wonderful day. It was nice to have a tour and then to have the day to ourselves. It also was very organized.  It was really an enjoyable field trip!

January InterestEd

Our January InterestEd sessions were a huge success!  Students had the opportunity to continue learning basic sign language, make snowflakes, paint with rocks, meet a Peace Corps Volunteer, go on a virtual field trip and much more!

Scroll down to check out the pictures of our students participating in several of the different sessions.

Mark your calendar and watch your email for the next round of InterestEd opportunities!

Student Spotlight: Kelsey E.

Kelsey started the year in Light 160 and made it to second place in points.  She then moved to Heavy 160 with about 6 races left in the year.  She was able to climb to a third place finish in points by end of the season. She was also awarded the most improved senior driver for the second year in a row by her peers.  Kelsey races at quarter midget tracks in Pueblo, Co and Elliott, Co.  She also raced at the Budweiser Center in Loveland and Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Co.  Kelsey will be racing one more year in quarter midgets along with racing a full sized race car for 2019.  We encourage any kids to come out and try this sport as it is a great way to learn, meet other kids, and have fun.

We are so proud of you Kelsey!
