Student Spotlight: Kelsey E.


Kelsey started the year in Light 160 and made it to second place in points.  She then moved to Heavy 160 with about 6 races left in the year.  She was able to climb to a third place finish in points by end of the season. She was also awarded the most improved senior driver for the second year in a row by her peers.  Kelsey races at quarter midget tracks in Pueblo, Co and Elliott, Co.  She also raced at the Budweiser Center in Loveland and Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Co.  Kelsey will be racing one more year in quarter midgets along with racing a full sized race car for 2019.  We encourage any kids to come out and try this sport as it is a great way to learn, meet other kids, and have fun.

Student Spotlight: Alyssa C.

Congratulations to BSO 6th grader Alyssa C. on placing 4th on the beam with a personal best score of  9.450 and 7th in the all around with a score of 36.625 at her recent gymnastics meet!

Alyssa is a hard working level 5 gymnast. She currently trains with the Colorado Gymnastics Institute and competes almost every weekend. And she does all of it while maintaining an A average at Branson School Online!

Congratulations Alyssa!  We are so proud of you!

September InterestED



Our September InterestEd sessions were a huge success!  Students had the opportunity to learn basic sign language, complete a fall craft, learn the basics of how to use a graphing calculator, create a volcano in their kitchen and much more!

Years Teaching: this is my 9th year

Favorite food: My favorite food is a chimichanga!

Favorite color: My favorite color is purple.

Pets: I have two dogs, a black lab named Layla and a yellow lab named Arrow. 

Hobbies: I spend every extra minute with my two kiddos. We love going to the park and swimming at the Y. 

What do you love about teaching? I love to help kids learn and believe in themselves. 

What do you love about teaching with Branson? I love the flexibility that comes with teaching online with Branson. 

Favorite season? Why? My favorite season is summer because my husband and I both teach so we have time off together. 

Favorite place you have traveled to? My favorite place I have traveled is Greece. 

# 1 item on your bucket list: I'd really like to go skydiving but my husband won't let me until the kids are grown. :)

Favorite book/author: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is my favorite book. 

Favorite sport: My favorite sport to play is volleyball. My favorite sport to watch is football. 

Anything else you’d like to share: I absolutely love being a mom to my 2 year old son, Michael, and his little brother, William, who is 2 months old. :)

Years Teaching:  This is my sixth year.

Years with BSO:  This is my first year at BSO.

Favorite food:  Tacos!!!

Favorite color:  Purple 

Pets:  I have 2 dogs named Pip and Lily.

Hobbies:  I love to yoga, reading, and traveling with my husband.

What do you love about teaching?  I love that I can have an impact on my students’ lives, both long term and just day by day.  Nothing is better than being able to help my students find joy in learning.  

What do you love about teaching with Branson? I love the diverse group of students that I am getting to meet.  

Favorite season? Why?  Fall is my favorite season.  Everything is cozy in the fall.  The food is warm and comforting, the sweaters are soft and fuzzy, and the colors are warm and cheerful.

Favorite place you have traveled to?  Kailua, Hawaii

# 1 item on your bucket list:  Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef

Favorite book/author:  Tale of Two Cities is the best book I have ever read.  

Favorite sport:  I love football!  (Go Broncos!)
